I met up with them last weekend to talk over the details of the wedding and to cover their engagement shoot, which is a great chance to get couples used to having their picture taken before the big day, whilst giving them some great pictures along the way.  The weather was against us with rain and wind, but we managed to find a few spots around the town to give us some cover.

Really can’t wait for this wedding, it’s going to be amazing.

The pre-wedding/engagement shoot works really well in getting couple to relax in front of the camera, so when it comes to the day, they know what to expect and we can work faster to get great results without dragging them away from their guests for an entire afternoon.  Engagement shoots are included with all my wedding photography coverage, and you get to keep all of the pictures on disc!

]]> http://www.robbooker.co.uk/blog/2010/08/ruth-jobe-%e2%80%a2-engagement-shoot/feed/ 0 Jo & Jon • Engagement Shoot http://www.robbooker.co.uk/blog/2010/06/jo-jon-%e2%80%a2-engagement-shoot/ http://www.robbooker.co.uk/blog/2010/06/jo-jon-%e2%80%a2-engagement-shoot/#comments Fri, 18 Jun 2010 07:45:40 +0000 Rob http://www.robbooker.co.uk/blog/?p=1115 Last week, Jo & Jon took me up to the crag just behind their house in deepest Huby in Yorkshire for their pre-wedding engagement shoot.  A pretty windy day gave me a bit of a challenge to find some shelter, and first on the cards was a shot right at the top with a view of their house in the distance (they’ll know which one I hope).  The crag was beautiful and had an amazing 360 degree view of the area which made me think I need to get out of my office a bit more.  Carved into the rocks was graffiti dating back to the 1800s (well that’s what it said, and I didn’t have the time or my carbon-dating kit to test it).

They’re getting married in the middle of July and chose their wedding venue purely on the basis of how good the food is – my kind of people!  They’re having it at The Star Inn at Harome, which is a Michelin stared gastropub.  I was pretty keen to get my order in early, and fortunately I don’t have to take my normal packed-lunch.  Anyway, less about food and more about photos – here are a few of my favourites from the 40 or so shots we got on the day.

]]> http://www.robbooker.co.uk/blog/2010/06/jo-jon-%e2%80%a2-engagement-shoot/feed/ 3 Lucy & Richard • Engagement Shoot • Greenwich Park, London http://www.robbooker.co.uk/blog/2010/05/lucy-richard-%e2%80%a2-engagement-shoot-%e2%80%a2-greenwich-park-london/ http://www.robbooker.co.uk/blog/2010/05/lucy-richard-%e2%80%a2-engagement-shoot-%e2%80%a2-greenwich-park-london/#comments Tue, 11 May 2010 07:45:24 +0000 Rob http://www.robbooker.co.uk/blog/?p=1075 Lucy & Richard’s pre-wedding shoot took place when I was down in London a couple of weeks ago.  Lucy decided Greenwich Park would be a good place to go, and it definitely came up with the goods.  I was a bit worried about this one as about a month ago, Rich broke his ankle so was in a David Beckham-esque style cast until a day before the shoot.  He turned up limping on a crutch and if you’ve been to Greenwich before, you’ll know it’s not ideal for grooms-to-be limping on crutches.  Luckily he managed just fine, and hopefully the pictures were worth the hobble.  A bit nervous as most couple are to begin with, by the end of the shoot I wasn’t giving any direction at all, and it was only the car parking meter and a need for coffee that made us head back.

Their wedding is at the end of June in the Yorkshire Dales, at Linton Church and The Devonshire Arms so check back here for the big day.

They’re getting married in Malmaison in the centre of Leeds early next year, and I can’t wait.  Malmaison’s going to produce some really beautiful shots.
