Hope & Social • A quick visit

Earlier on today, me and the 3B Media team, Barnaby Aldrick and Phil Barber took a wonder down to The Crypt in Leeds, to check out Hope & Social recording a few new songs for their new album.  More of a quick visit to say hi, see what we were each up to, and talk...

Great pics. The Crypt looks like an awesome place!

Absolutely cutting photographs there of a dynamic band in action. They capture a haunting nuance of a recording process beyond twinkling teeth and Cola endorsed, leather clad chair swinging.. Inspiring work here Rob, from an inspiring band, quite a pairing!

Lovely stuff Captain Booker. Some lovely details and moments well caught…

Excellent images, love the atmosphere captured here.

Primary Faction • TV Promo Images

I spent most of this shoot in a dark, oil coated, freezing-cold building.  Studio 81 on Kirkstall Road, kindly gave me permission to shoot in an old disused bus depot in Leeds for a promotional shoot for a TV series currently in development called, Primary Faction.  With only limited time before the natural light was...

Liam • Portraits

This is the third time I’ve photographed Liam, and this time was just a little different . . . He wanted some portraits to show off his character as an actor which will be featured on his website.  We started off in deepest, wettest Leeds in The Adelphi pub, whilst dodging the rain and traffic...

Barns, thanks a lot – the top image is one big old softbox and some careful positioning, a a touch of natural light from the window. Iona, I didn’t make him shave, he offered!

Iona17/12/2009 - 1:15 PM

Brilliant! Did you make him shave mid shoot! Impressed! x

Barnaby Aldrick17/12/2009 - 11:58 AM

Love it amigo! A fantastic stash of shottage. You’re really trying to push things further with every shoot. I love the first one by the blue wall. Natural or studio light? I’m also lovin the HDR like detail in the coat on the bottom image.

Skills.

Theatre Royal Wakefield • Promotional

Waiting on a pavement during a cold November night with a few £k’s worth of camera gear waiting for the sky to hit it’s peek isn’t among my favourite jobs, but when Made By Analogue asked me to shoot some images for Theatre Royal Wakefield’s new promotional material, I couldn’t turn it down.  This time...

One word. Wow!

Love it, great concept, fantastic colour. Is that the colour from the side of the bus in there as well?

Phil B15/12/2009 - 9:14 PM

Love this shot Rob. Colour is really vibrant and the light streaks perfect. Great dynamism.

U2 • The full story • Dom Valley Stadium

So to expand on the teaser I posted earlier this week . . . My two photo buddy affiliates Barns and Phil run a company called The Sound Gallery, whose aim is to photograph the Northern music scene in style, through both cool portraits and live gigs.
They’ve both been working hard at getting access to...
